Libre Office prevents OpenOffice installation
To prevent a conflict, LibreOffice may have to be completely uninstalled.
Some program components can be uninstalled manually.
For others we need the terminal.
It runs in Terminal like this:
sudo apt-get remove libreoffice*
We download OpenOffice from www.openoffice.org.
We need the Linux 64 bit x86_64 DEB version.
We create a folder “OpenOffice_64” and copy the downloaded file into it.
Open with archive management or double-click . Unzip all files.
Depending on the language, there should then be an “en” directory in the USA and Great Britain.
Then we go to the “DEBS” directory
In the directory, open a terminal and execute the following command:
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
Finally into the directory “desktop-integration” and open Terminal again:
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
To be on the safe side, perhaps restart the LinuxMint .
If everything went well, OpenOffice and other applications such as OpenOffice Writer, OpenOffice Calc , etc. are now under Office. The rest of the setup is carried out automatically and is similar to the installation under Windows.
