Linux Mint Cinnamon 21.2 : Mount Windows 10 partitions
First install “Gedit” in the application management .
Open etc/fstab with “Gedit” as administrator.
In the terminal “sudo gedit” and then search for the file “/etc/fstab”
Enter “blkid” in Terminal
$blkid –list
Create a new folder under “/media/user” as Administrator.
Right-click in the “Open as system administrator” folder on the left.
Then right-click “New folder” .
Assign names such as “Windows10” or other partitions with personal files as “Data” .
LinuxMint now also mounts Windows partitions automatically, i.e. they are automatically mounted at system startup.
IMPORTANT: To obtain write access, Windows 10/11 must not use the “hibernation mode”.
You will find this item under “Power options” or “Screen timeout”.
Right mouse button, “Customize” , “Lock screen” , “Screen timeout settings” , “Additional power options” , “Select what happens when the power button is pressed” .
Click “Some settings are currently unavailable”. “Quick start” and “Sleep mode” must not be checked.
